FAQs

What happens in the first session?

The initial appointment is an opportunity for us to meet, get a sense of each other and talk about what you would like to address in therapy.

If after this session we decide to work with each other, we will arrange a day and time for regular sessions.

How much does it cost?

I charge £50 for the first session and if we agree to continue working with each other we will negotiate a fee that is within my sliding scale of £50-80, my standard fee being £65.

How regularly will we meet?

We will meet for a 50-minute session once per week in a regular time slot.

How long will I be in therapy for?

This is up to you and depends on what you would like to address in therapy. I offer short-term counselling (8-12 weeks) or longer-term therapy. We can discuss this during the first session and look at what your expectations and hopes are.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, I do offer online sessions via Zoom.

Do you have any areas of specialism?

Yes and No.

Yes, because I do have a background in sex counselling and if you are thinking about having therapy in order to talk about gender, sex/sexualities, your relationship patterns, navigating relationship models, experiences of non-consent, etc. I might be the right therapist for you.

But also no, because I work with whatever it is you bring and I don't think there should be a hierarchy in terms of what deserves space in therapy and what doesn't.
I have had the honour of working with a huge variety of clients over the last few years and whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, particular symptoms, trauma, grief, adjustment to parenthood or other significant life changes or simply need a space to vent: all feelings are welcome.
